The essence and simplicity of the prairie horizon line South and West of Winnipeg began to invade the backgrounds of recent figure paintings, sort of as a design foil to create a sense of surface tension to the figure. The concept of the Prairie Icons as a series grew out of this observation. Sizes range from 7” x 5” to 16” x 12”.
